Before you fly

Air travel is becoming quite a hassle. Don’t get me wrong, I love to fly. But with the ridiculous security lineups and lousy in-flight service, flying is just not as fun as it used to be.

Flightstats.com is one website that is trying to make air travel a little more pleasant. Its a good site for comparing ontime performance of airlines, frequent flyer programs, and the like.

Check it out, it just might get you a better flight,

Great Italian Food

If you are looking for wonderful, authentic Italian food in North San Diego County then look no further than Trattoria I Trulli. Located in the seaside town of Encinitas, Trattoria I Trulli is a small restaurant with tons of charm, great food and very reasonable prices. The tables are placed close together and the restaurant gives you the feeling of being in Europe, where smaller and more tightly packed restaurants are the norm.

The service has been good on all of our visits and the food excellent. The wine list offers a nice combination of Italian and world wines and the Italian beer is great.

Bread is brought to the table and served with a tomato sauce for dipping that is full of garlic, so make sure everyone at the table has some. But don’t eat too much - the entres are a good size and you’ll want to make sure you have room to finish them.

Trattoria I Trulli offers a dinner specials menu in addition to their standard fare. The specials change often and are variations on their popular dishes. Try the Gnocchi - very flavourful and cooked perfectly. On the main dinner menu, make sure you try the Cappellaccci Di Zucca. This raviolli is filled with butternut squash and served with a wonderful tomatoe sauce and brown butter.

Make sure you leave room for desert. The Italian deserts are very good and are perfect for enjoying a tea or coffee while you relax and chat with your dinner companions, savouring the art of cooking and baking that is Trattoria I Trulli.

Trattoria I Trulli is open for lunch Daily from 11:30am to 2:30pm.
Dinner hours are Fri-Sat 5:00pm-10:30pm and Sun-Thu 5:00pm-10:00pm

First Trip
